The trend of the BDI continued with a further decline, with the biggest drop being noted in Supramaxes and Panamaxes, followed by Capes.

The dry bulk indices on a free fall

bulk ships 000The beginning of the year saw the dry bulk indices on a free fall. BDI had a harsh fall of 17.49% the first day of 2023, the highest daily fall witnessed since its inception in 1985, and it dropped 25% w-on-w during the first week of 2023.
